Spring 2018 is Coming Soon
As of this post, March 15, 2018, the Gunnison River basin snow/water equivalent is at 56% of average. Not a great number, but we can live with that. Pre-run off is going to be early as the warm temperatures are melting the surface ice and the dangerous ledges have been reduced. There has been some success with fishing the pre spawning rainbows on the Gunnison. All rivers are clear and low. Run off should be over by mid to late June, leaving a good season for the early fisher people. If the spring skiing is not up to your expectations, you can go fishing.
